EIT Urban Mobility SME Market Expansion 2027: fixed EUR 60,000 grant for SMEs entering new markets, deadline 1 December
EIT Urban Mobility has launched the SME Market Expansion Open Call 2027 to assist small and medium-sized enterprises in scaling proven mobility solutions. The funding mechanism is designed to reduce market entry risks and facilitate deployment across new European territories and market sectors.
The initiative operates with a total budget of EUR 600,000, targeting around 10 projects across participating European markets. Selected SMEs will each receive a fixed lump sum grant of EUR 60,000 to validate their solutions in operational environments.
Applications opened on 9 October 2026 and will close on 1 December 2026 at 17:00 CET. All activities must be structured around real-world implementation alongside a committed commercial or municipal partner.
What is funded
The call funds the replication, testing, and scaling of market-ready mobility solutions that have already demonstrated prior success. Grants are intended to lower deployment risks and give companies credibility when entering new markets.
Support is allocated across five defined thematic topics: Public and Shared Transport, Urban Logistics, Electrification of transport and alternative fuels, Mobility data management, and Health and mobility. Projects must show a direct path toward long-term commercialization within these domains.
Who can apply
Eligibility is restricted to single small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) acting as mono-beneficiaries. Applicants must possess a scalable product or service suitable for rapid adoption in European markets.
Enterprises that were selected for funding under the previous SME Market Expansion Open Call 2026 are not eligible to apply. This restriction is established to maintain a balanced and diverse funding portfolio across editions.
Conditions and requirements
A core prerequisite is mandatory collaboration with an end client, which may be either a private company or a public entity. The partner must be formally committed to testing and demonstrating the SME’s solution in an authentic operational setting.
Practical tip. Secure an official commitment from your testing partner early in the drafting process, as the end client’s active involvement in real-world validation is an essential evaluation criterion.
Applications are also evaluated against established key performance indicators and financial criteria. Grantees are required to address contributions toward the financial sustainability mechanisms of EIT Urban Mobility.
How to apply
Proposals must be prepared and submitted via the designated submission platform before the deadline on 1 December 2026 at 17:00 CET. Submissions must include all required project documentation, partner validation details, and topic alignments.
An informational webinar will be hosted on 15 October 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 CET to explain the application process. The session covers call scope, KPI frameworks, evaluation rules, the role of the end client, and financial sustainability terms.
Applications are submitted on the donor’s page: eit.europa.eu.
