EIT Culture & Creativity Spark: up to EUR 30,000 and nine months of incubation for creative-tech teams in fashion and architecture, apply by 16 November

EIT Culture & Creativity has launched the New Ventures in Creative Tech (Spark) open call, an incubation and funding initiative designed for early-stage creative-tech founders. The programme aims to support innovators working at the intersection of technology and creative sectors who are ready to transform validated concepts into commercially viable businesses.

Selected concepts will receive equity-free financial support of up to EUR 30,000, covering up to 100% of eligible project costs. The overall call budget is estimated at EUR 1,050,000, supporting up to 35 business concepts across EU Member States and Horizon Europe associated countries.

The application window is open until 16 November 2026 at 17:00 CET. Successful applicants will embark on a two-step incubation journey running from March 2027 through December 2027, combining an in-person startup sprint with a nine-month online incubation track.

What is funded

The call finances the incubation and early-stage growth of creative technology ventures focusing on Materials & Built Environment, specifically within the fashion and architecture sectors. The initiative seeks tech-centric innovations, which include material science developments, hardware solutions, or digital applications backed by a prototype or pilot.

Beneficiaries receive up to EUR 30,000 to cover up to 100% of eligible project costs, with no co-funding requirement. The support package also includes an intensive 2-3 day in-person Createch Startup Sprint in a European city, followed by the nine-month Spark Incubation Programme featuring dedicated coaching, international mentorship, specialized workshops, and technology partnerships.

Who can apply

The opportunity is open to early-stage individual founders and multidisciplinary teams based in European Union Member States or Horizon Europe associated countries, such as Ukraine. Applicants must not have a legally registered company for the submitted business concept at the time of application.

Eligible candidates must have moved beyond purely theoretical ideation and be actively testing, building, or validating their business concept. Teams must show a clear commitment to establishing a scalable, for-profit venture addressing challenges in fashion, architecture, or advanced materials.

Conditions and requirements

A primary condition of the Spark programme is mandatory incorporation: selected participants must establish a new legal entity by Month 3 of the incubation timeline. Following registration, the new company must register on the EU Funding & tender opportunities portal, secure a Participant Identification Code (PIC), and complete legal entity validation via the EIT Community Onboarding Service.

To prevent double funding, costs already financed by other EU grants or programmes cannot be reimbursed. Projects are expected to contribute to EIT Culture & Creativity key performance indicators, including startup establishment, incubation participation, and capital attracted, with participants required to provide supporting documentation upon request.

Practical tip. Prepare the administrative steps for company registration and EU portal validation well in advance, as satisfying the strict Month 3 incorporation milestone requires quick coordination among co-founders and local corporate registries.

How to apply

Proposals must be prepared and submitted via the donor’s online platform before the deadline on 16 November 2026 at 17:00 CET. Applicants are required to submit an application form along with Part B, a Lean Startup Canvas, a Venture Execution Plan following the provided outline, and a detailed budget plan detailing the EIT funding request.

Submitted applications undergo an evaluation phase running from November 2026 to January 2027. Results will be communicated to applicants in early February 2027, followed by public announcement and project kick-off in March 2027.

Applications are submitted on the donor’s page: eit-culture-creativity.eu.
