Enhance NEB 2027 by EIT Urban Mobility: up to €92,500 for consortia with a partner city to scale New European Bauhaus solutions, apply by 17 November
EIT Urban Mobility, leading the EIT Community New European Bauhaus in collaboration with EIT Food and Climate KIC, has launched the Enhance NEB 2027 Open Call. The funding opportunity aims to scale, strengthen, or transfer place-based solutions originally developed through earlier Connect NEB and Co-create NEB projects. Supported initiatives must address challenges in urban mobility, food, or climate while embodying New European Bauhaus values.
A total call allocation of €370,000 is available, intended to support four selected projects. Each awarded consortium may receive up to €92,500 in EIT funding, which covers up to 80% of the total eligible budget. Consortium partners must contribute the remaining share through co-funding.
Applications must be submitted by 17 November 2026 at 17:00 CET. The selected initiatives will execute their activities over a maximum timeframe of 12 months, with project implementation planned between March 2027 and February 2028.
What is funded
The call funds initiatives that advance place-based solutions from previous Connect NEB and Co-create NEB projects. Applicants must structure their work around one or more defined pathways: strengthening existing projects by deepening collaboration, scaling solutions to expand reach and partnerships, or replicating proven approaches in new geographic locations.
Proposals must align primarily with one of three thematic areas: Urban Mobility, Food, or Climate. In addition, all activities must integrate the core New European Bauhaus principles, ensuring that solutions are sustainable, beautiful, and inclusive.
Funded projects can run for a maximum duration of 12 months. Implementation is anticipated to begin in March 2027 and conclude by February 2028, during which teams are expected to co-create with communities and relevant local stakeholders.
Who can apply
The Enhance NEB 2027 call is open to multi-beneficiary consortia comprising between two and four legal entities. At least two of these entities must be independent of one another. The call is open to municipalities, non-governmental organisations, small and medium enterprises, higher education institutions, and research organisations.
A strict eligibility requirement applies to the lead applicant. The Lead Partner must have participated, either as a coordinator or as a consortium partner, in an eligible Connect NEB or Co-create NEB project funded in 2025 or 2026.
Consortium members must be established in European Union member states or associated countries. Applicants must ensure that all partner entities satisfy the formal EIT eligibility criteria before submission.
Conditions and requirements
Selected projects can receive up to €92,500 in grant funding, covering a maximum of 80% of the eligible project costs. Consortia are required to provide a minimum co-funding contribution of 20% from their own resources or other non-EIT sources.
Projects are expected to demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and sustained community involvement. Consortia must clearly outline how their proposed activities will build directly upon earlier achievements and deliver lasting local impact in target locations.
Practical tip. Review your previous Connect NEB or Co-create NEB documentation to verify that your consortium lead meets the formal track-record requirements. When formulating the new work plan, explicitly demonstrate how the proposed scaling or replication pathway integrates the core New European Bauhaus values into tangible local outcomes.
How to apply
Applications must be prepared in accordance with the official Call Manual guidelines issued by EIT Urban Mobility. Consortia are required to submit their complete proposals before the deadline on 17 November 2026 at 17:00 CET.
Proposals must articulate their chosen pathway – whether strengthening, scaling, or replicating – and specify alignment with urban mobility, climate, or food themes. Because only four projects will be funded across the entire call, applicants should present a clear methodology and a realistic 12-month delivery schedule.
Applications are submitted on the donor’s page: eiturbanmobility.eu.
