Terre de Femmes by the Yves Rocher Foundation: €10,000 for women leading urban tree projects, open to Ukraine, apply by 30 November
The Yves Rocher Foundation has opened applications for the 2027 edition of its international Terre de Femmes Award. This cycle focuses on the theme of ‘Trees in the City’, supporting initiatives that place trees and urban greening at the center of community life and urban resilience.
The award recognizes concrete field initiatives led by women across the globe. Two selected winners worldwide will each receive a grant of €10,000 to advance their projects and will join the foundation’s international network of committed women.
Eligible candidates can apply from any country, including Ukraine, provided their activities are implemented through a registered non-profit organization. The deadline for submitting applications is 30 November 2026 at midnight.
What is funded
The grant supports impactful initiatives focused on urban nature conservation and tree planting or preservation in urban and peri-urban environments. Eligible projects may encompass hands-on environmental education involving schools and residents, or the creation of innovative urban agroforestry systems such as community orchards and forest gardens.
Funding also covers the preservation of notable or heritage trees, the establishment of nurseries for native or endangered tree species, and urban greening anchored in an ecological approach. Additionally, actions targeting the re-greening of densely built-up areas, brownfield sites, rooftops, schools, hospitals, and degraded urban woodlands or riverbanks are eligible.
Who can apply
The call is open to any woman of legal age or a collective of women actively engaged in nature conservation connected with trees. Applicants may be citizens and residents of any country worldwide, making the competition fully open to international applicants, including Ukrainian women leaders.
To be eligible, the proposed initiative must be carried out through an established non-profit entity, such as an association, non-governmental organization, or foundation. The entity must have been formally established for at least one year at the time of submission.
Conditions and requirements
Applicants must demonstrate tangible impact, showing how their project addresses urban ecological challenges such as biodiversity loss, heat stress, or insufficient green coverage. The foundation favors actions that actively integrate local communities, schools, or neighborhood residents.
Practical tip. Ensure that your non-profit partner entity meets the one-year registration requirement and can provide proof of legal status. When describing your project, clearly highlight the ecological necessity of your actions, specifying the local tree species involved and the measurable benefits to the urban community.
How to apply
Applications must be prepared and submitted online through the Wiin platform before the deadline of Monday, 30 November 2026, midnight. Late submissions or submissions outside the designated platform are not accepted.
The application should provide comprehensive details on the project scope, objectives, target location, and the woman or collective of women leading the work. For questions regarding the award criteria or submission process, candidates can contact the organizer directly by email.
